Sometimes a puppy will just… power down mid-walk, like a fluffy little phone with 1% battery left. And honestly? It makes sense. Puppies are still growing, and that takes a lot of energy. Their muscles are tiny, their stamina is tinier, and their brains are busy processing every leaf, smell, and mysterious floating plastic bag. All that sensory homework is exhausting! On top of that, young pups don’t regulate body temperature or bloodsugar as efficiently yet, so a warm day or a longer walkie can make them feel extra snoozy.
And yes - long walks can be a bit much for very young dogs. Short, gentle outings (plus plenty of sniffing breaks) are usually better while their joints and muscles are still developing. Think of your puppy like a toddler at a theme park: they’re thrilled to be there… until suddenly they’re not, and they flop. When that happens, scoops, cuddles, and a comfy nap spot are definitely the right call.

Sometimes it just feels like that at work, right? There's a Great Dane managing the project, while a Pinscher will contribute… in any way they can. They'll look at the code and say “Yeah, looks cool”. They'll sign this one document (even if they didn't read it). They'll get their participation trophy.
